Cannot use iPad and Mac together on WiFi network

Both my iPad and macbook are connected to my home WiFi network, all of my other devices: phones, other laptops etc, are also connected to that. When I turn on iPad and Mac seperately, i.e I dont use them together, there is no issue. But as soon as I turn on the other device while I am using one device, both lose connection to the network and will refuse to connect.

IP assign is DHCP on mac and automatic on iPad.

Both are updated to the last iPadOS and MacOS versions.

MAC address is automatic on the macbook.

As described, you perhaps have an IP Address conflict - or, although unlikely, a MAC Address clash.

To identify the cause, you will need to verify the actualy assigned IP Address for each device when connected - and the MAC address of each of your devices. This information will be accessible from settings.

On your WiFi router, check that your DHCP address pool is sufficiently large to accommodate every device that is using DHCP for IP Address asignment. You shoild also be anle to verify the assigned IP Addresses for all devices on your network.

I turned off handoff and universal control and it has seemed to stop the network dropping (Hooray!).

IP addresses were not similar and neither were the MAC addresses. The problem is very recent and I have not added any new devices to the network, nor have I changed any router settings.

Still, it would be a shame if one the above settings is causing such an issue.
