iOS iMovie import from shared folder

This is SUCH a painful process I am making a movie from 150 photos - I created a shared drive for my kids to put photos into. In order to get the photos into iMovie on iOS I have found no other way than to save my photos from the shared drive into a files folder then import from the files folder to iMovie - ONE AT A TIME. I do select all and choose iMovie to share to but it only imports one photo. Please tell me there’s an easy fix for this!
