Macbook Air 2013 - (in 2023) - attempting to transfer photos/vids to external device to keep safe - error when transferring

I tried starting my mac in Safe Mode, and I was then able to continue with my transfers from Photos to my external device via Finder.

Exporting photos error message I've been offloading photos from my Macbook to a flash-drive to clear up memory space, and transferred over 22,000 photos last night. I'd left my laptop alone and checked back hours later when it was done, and saw an export error message on the screen. In the end, 2 photos were not transferred due to some error. When I clicked 'Show in Finder,' which I thought would take me to those 2 photos, instead the computer opened the photo album I'd been copying over and closed the window before I had time to note down what those 2 photos were. Is there some way to look up activities history or figure out which 2 photos were not moved to the flash-drive? Would starting the transfer process of 22,000 photos to the flash-drive again just duplicate all my photos or would I have the option to skip duplicates? Would that take too long? Is there any solution?

Photos Library on External HD, appears corrupt, won't allow me to transfer anywhere OK, I've been working on this for over a week, including scouring these boards and trying many of the solutions that have seemed to work for others before posting this – but I've finally hit my limit. About a week or two ago, I started getting the following message anytime I started up my MBP: I tried moving everything over to another drive (formatted) and continued to get an error: That sent me down the rabbit hole of trying every solution that I could find on here. Nothing has worked. Couple of important distinctions: It gets to 1.89GB of transfer (out of ~650GB) then stops and flashes this message I have tried to transfer to the computer HDD as well as now three separate HDDs, all of which were reformatted prior to transfer and contain nothing else. I ran First Aid on the external HDD where the library currently resides and was met with the following information So, that's where things stand. I feel like I've run out of solutions and am open to any/all suggestions for how to accomplish this. I really hope I have not lost my entire library of digital photos. Thanks! [Edited by Moderator]

Moving photos from iPhoto to photo on new MacPro Just purchased new MacbookPro and went through steps to move files from old MacBook Pro 2009. Files all came across. All photos were in iPhoto and when we opened photos it started looking through all the photos and gave message that it is curating best photos, analyzing scenes, composing layout, detecting duplicates, gathering favorites. To Leave device connected to power. The blue bar is appropriately 1/4 of the way. This has been like this for 17 hours now. We don’t know what to do. Is this normal or is computer hung up in the process and if so what should we do?
