what the best internet security M1

What is the best / recommended Internet Security to use on a Mac Studio M1 Max Chip ?

I have been apple based on and off for the last 4 years moving from PC only based for 15yrs where it is a must to install internet security (Firewall and Antivirus).

I also use Parallels to run a Windows 11 based VM for Sage Accounts (which has its problems) !

I have used Mcafee for over 15yrs on both PC and Mac (Intel Based), but now finding when I install on my recently purchased Mac Studio (M1 Max) it seems to not run as smoothly and noticing compatibility issues mainly with the firewall / thunderbolt etc.....

What is the best internet security setup to use with the latest M1 ?

Is anyone else experiencing compatibility issues with Mcafee Firewall and also Parallels compatibility with Mcafee ?

In all honesty, none. The Mac is perfectly capable of securing itself on its own. It does not need a y 3rd party apps. Most of those security and AntiVirus apps on Mac just cause issues and performance degradation.

don't buy or install third-party stuff

these days the same goes for windows really

install the free malware bytes and run it every week to root out malware (same with for windows)

and on macOS run free etrecheck every month to check for issues

just don't download and let random apps and exe files from shady sites have admin privileges to bypass the UAC

and understand that phishing is the biggest threat you are facing really
