How to set up Apple Podcast subtitles

Hi All,

Is there a way to generate subtitles or CC when listening to a podcast in the Apple Podcast app?

I'm asking for a family member who has hearing issues and relies on subtitles when viewing videos.

We are wondering if there's also a way to turn these on in the Apple Podcast app.

Thank you

If you’re in the United States and have iOS 16 or later, you can go to Settings >Accessibility>scroll down to audio/visual settings>Live Captions. Tap it then tap the grayed out button at the top of the next screen where it says Live Captions (beta). You can then change the font boldness, size and color if you want. With Live Captions enabled, a dark rectangle will appear at the bottom of your screen that says “Listening.” Start your podcast then go back to the rectangle and expand it to make it full screen so it can be read more easily.

Looks like and update moved the settings around a little but I found it here:
