You connect via internal "networks". Click the signal strength icon and then "Other networks". You should see possible networks.

You may have a damaged network card. Honestly. I doubt that's it; I suggest you reinstall your OS via the Recovery Panel by invoking Command R at startup. How to reinstall macOS - Apple Support

So the WiFi works fine, the ethernet is "green" I am connected.. but I am not, only since the update, I have checked every "node" from where it is comes in the house and all the connections including the cable. I have shut EVERYTHING off and turned it on, again this only happened since the last update 13.3.1, so I am thinking it was an update issue... other then shutting everything off, I have no idea how to reset ethernet.....

Again it is the ethernet, NOT the WiFI I connect via system preferences and network with ethernet.... I"ll try the re-install, but searching the community I am NOT the only with this problem since the last update, so I do think it's in the update that has created this issue for ethernet on some iMac's
