Can I attach external speakers to my IPAD?

If your iPad is an older model with a 3.5mm headphone jack, you can connect the iPad directly, using a suitable cable with a 3.5mm plug, to external amplified speakers.
If your iPad doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack, you can use a Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Adapter:
