New phone - old user

I am trying to down load a few pictures from the cloud onto a file in “on my iPhone” it has taken hours & nothing yet!

some photos missing after transferring from my old phone to a new one so i recently changed from iphone 13 to 15 and i backed up my phone right before i signed in to my new one. and i thought i finally got everything(photos, contacts, messages, notes,etc). but i was looking for a certain photo, and when looking through my photos i see all pictures that were taken after april 2024 all the way to before January 2025 are missing. like completely gone, no where. i was bomfuzzled and i don’t know what to do because my brother took my old phone and already restarted it so i can’t even get them back like that. i don’t know if they’re stuck in icloud still or what because it’s been a week since i transferred. what do i do?

My phone automatically switched my Apple ID on me and now I am missing a lot of photos. How do I recover the photos? A week ago my phone rebooted on its own. It automatically switched user id on me and now I don’t have majority of photos
