Can Optimized Battery Charging just stop wasting battery cycles?!

OK, this is getting ridiculous. I don’t have a 100% accurate weekly routine of when I unplug or plug back in my laptop, I just sporadically travel to the office once or twice a week (not same days or hours every week) in which times my laptop is on sleep packed in my backpack while I drive to work.

OBC will discharge my battery down to 80% and will hold it there but every time I unplug it and plug it back in, it will start charging it back to 100%. This is eating battery cycles unnecessarily, I use my laptop as a desktop replacement, I barely use it on battery, so can’t that “Charge to full” button just remain there permanently until I PERSONALLY decide to charge it to 100%?

I have nothing against it remaining at 80% at all times, so why does the machine have to play a smartass on me and keep charging it to full every time I reconnect it?! It’s eating up 3 battery cycles per week for me unnecessarily!
