Apple Music Family User

I have family sharing activated, linked with my wife and son. I've changed my iPhone, and the Music app now is "taken" by my wife Apple ID. In my Mac and my iPad I´m still using Music with my ID. My Apple ID is working fine everywhere, also in my iPhone, but i can´t use Music with my user id. How can I change it?

Hello djpozzi,

Okay, so it's just when you go into the Music application that you see this other Apple ID. It sounds like you may be signed into the Media & Purchases option with this different Apple ID then.

Go to Settings > name at the top > Media & Purchases, in the options that come up select View Account. Then at the top of that page check to see if it's showing the same Apple ID that you've been seeing in the Music app. If it is, select Done to close the window then select Media & Purchases again and this time select Sign Out. Once you're signed out, sign in to the Apple ID you want to use for Music.

In a Family Sharing group, you can also check to see if the purchase sharing Apple ID was possibly changed there which would cause a different Apple ID to show up under Music.

Use a different Apple ID to share purchases with Family Sharing

Cheers!

Hi djpozzi,

Each member of a Family Sharing group should use their own Apple ID on the devices they use or own.

If understood correctly, your wife has an Apple Music Family subscription and you're not able to access that service, correct?

If that is the case then as the Family Organizer you would need to verify that the settings to share purchases and subscriptions has been enabled per Share Apple and App Store subscriptions with family members on iPhone. Once active, you will access the Apple Music service with your own ID, but will not be required to have your own subscription. This will allow you to maintain your own Apple Music Library and history as described in Get an Apple Music family subscription.

If your concern is something else, please provide additional details to clarify what you're seeing and what steps you're attempting when the problem happens.

Regards.

Thanks Jess. I'm afraid I couldn't solve my problem. To be more precise: my iPhone is signed in with a different Apple ID that i use with my Apple Music. Mail, Files, Safari, all the apps works with my user ID correctly. I'm Family Share organizer, everything works fine, not error messages, BUT Music App is signed with my wife Apple ID. How can i change it to mine?

Thanks a lot, cheers.

Thanks Bill, I´m the Family Organizer, I share subscriptions with my son and wife. I can use Music App BUT it's signed with my wife ID, not mine. So i don't have my radio, my favorites, and as I use de Music service, I change my wife preferences, recommendations etc. That's is weird, because Music App in my Mac is signed with my user. This problem ONLY happen in my new iPhone. How can I change it?
