Camera zoom setting question
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max. My camera keeps defaulting to 1.0 zoom. I want it to default to .5 zoom. How do I change it to default to .5? The 1.0 is too cloudy/foggy looking. Thanks!

While their isn't an option available to set what the camera defaults to, you can find your options for changing your zoom settings here: iPhone camera basics - Apple Support
"Zoom in or out
- On all models, open Camera and pinch the screen to zoom in or out.
- On iPhone models with Dual and Triple camera systems, toggle between 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x to quickly zoom in or out (depending on your model). For a more precise zoom, touch and hold the zoom controls, then drag the slider right or left."
You can use the option to save camera settings to keep your zoom set at a specific option for portrait mode. You can learn more about that here: Save camera settings on iPhone - Apple Support
- "Portrait Zoom: Save the Portrait mode zoom rather than reset to the default lens (on iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max).
