Why has Apple made it impossible to preview a song I'm thinking of buying? When I click 'preview' all I get is "Try Apple Music". I own 8000 songs - the ones I'm actually interested in. Apple Music is of no use to me. No use to anyone who has a library, in fact. Of use only to a trillion dollar company trying to resell access to music you already own.

You can still search songs in the iTunes Store and preview them. Carefully follow the steps in the guide below. Make sure you are searching in the iTunes Store, not in the Apple Music streaming catalog.

Perhaps you thought it would be editorial on your part to separate my username that way?
Or maybe you are merely careless? Too careless to discern from my comment/question that I had, in fact, "Carefully follow[ed] the steps in the guide below". Had they actually worked for me, you wouldn't have had the opportunity to pad your points total.
The real problem, from my perspective, is that Apple has prioritized its streaming service over service to long-time users.
