my icloud account has been inactive, how do i log it out of my device

iCloud uses Apple ID credentials.

If you are not the owner and do not have the Apple ID and Password then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their Apple ID.

Open iTunes on your PC

Connect your phone or iPad using usb cable to PC

Turn off your device

Put your device in recovery mode ( in my situation it was iPhone SE and iPhone 7+) for iPhone SE I was using power button and home button. Was holding both buttons till recovery mode shows up

then in iTunes press restore button (update and restore)

Wait till software downloads and restores your device to factory settings

When device restarts you can set your device as new and log in to another iCloud.
