My work requires an 8 digit pass code. To fully use my new Mac book Air it asks me to enter my Pass code. However it’s only goes to 6 digits. I have tried everything but it won’t accept.
what is the work around or how do I connect.

You'll need to talk to your company as this is not an Apple problem. Your company has set up certain requirements and they control enter into their system.
What does only goes to 6 digits mean? Six little empty blocks? That's an Apple to Apple thing. For non Apple entities, banks for instance, my code entry space is a single large open block that I can enter any number of digits into.

Isn't it "Two-factor authentication"?
I dunno. Did you establish 2FA? Even if you did, that's not related to getting into your company's system.
You need to talk to your company about what THEY allow, not about what Apple can do.
