Can't share files from external seagate hard drive

hello

I am unable to add/delete files (file share) from/to my M2 Air from/to seagate external hard drive. I see a white crossed circle on the file during drag and drop and returns back to original source on release.

Can anybody help me with resolution/advice as I am unable to use the external hard drive due to same

The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “LaCie M1” can’t be found. I have a MacMini M1 as my Media Center attached to it is a LaCie External HD via Thunderbolt 3. HD is shared under sharing and does show up under network when I connect to computer. I can access via the network and my MacStudio the internal HD no issues however, every time I click on the external LaCie it comes up with The operation can’t be completed because the original item for “LaCie M1” can’t be found. The HD and Folder is selected as shareable, the permissions are right, it shows up in the Network menu on the other computer, I tried to rename the drive and shared folders, but there seems to be no way to connect to the attached HD via the Network. This drives me mad.

After updating to Ventura can't drag and drop files to external hard drive I'm heavy into photography and video. As a result, I have two 8TB Seagate external hard drives on which to store my files after post production. I've been successfully dragging my files from my 27" iMac to them for years up until I updated to Ventura. Now I am unable to drag from the desktop to the hard drives. I can drag and drop from the hard drives to the desk top, but not from desk top to the hard drives. Interestingly, I have 2 other Seagate 5TB hard drives and drag & drop works fine both ways with those. All HHDs have plenty of space left. Any ideas for a possible solution?

Can't copy to external NTFS hard-drive since Sonoma upgrade I have a 4TB NTFS external hard drive that I copy to quite regularly however, since upgrading to Sonoma I am unable to write to external media, not just my external hard drive but also memory sticks. Is this an issue with the upgrade itself? I do have a workaround; however, this is not a satisfactory solution. My M1 MBA sits on a network with a R-Pi server, two Windows laptops and an old Black-Mac. I can plus my external drive into any of these machines, create an SMB share and Sonoma has no problem writing to a SMB share. As I said, it is a workaround but not satisfactory.

If you can't copy data, your external drive may be damaged. Have you tried to use it on a different Mac? Or even a Windows box for that matter?

If you haven't, restart and retest.
