Mail app shows 100 gb usage and running continuously for 1 month

Check my topic posted regarding mail app on iCloud last month. Link


Simply tried to download my gmail 60 gb data to iCloud mailbox.


In regards to the above post, it's been over a month my mail app on iMac is doing some activity which I don't understand. And my mail app shows 103 gb and not reducing even after 1 month of waiting on this popup.

Sign out of iCloud and back in again...and compare your results

Sign out of iCloud on you ...Mac ...



For problem accounts—the go to way to sort things out is to delete the account(s) from the Mail.app, then add it back.

Note—

IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

“On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss

How much space do you have in iCloud?


What is your upload speed (upload is sending files and data from your Mac to somewhere else in the internet; download is bringing files/data from elsewhere in the internet to your Mac)?


8 Mbps = 1 MBps

You have 100 GB of email you are trying to upload.


Typical upload speed is 1 MBps, some providers offer much faster than that. If your upload speed is 1 MBps, uploading 100 GB should take a bit more than 1 day.


Look at Activity Monitor, do you see a steady upload of 1 MBps? What upload speed do you see there?
