mac move a contact
On my mac I am running macOS Big Sur.
In Contacts, how do I move a contact from All Contacts to a particular group?
iMac 27″, macOS 11.7

Yes. it's a regular group. I added a new group and when I dragged the contact to that new group, the group name became highlighted but the contact did not get copied there. Note that when I try to drag the contact to an existing group no highlighting or anything else happens.
While I was writing that I had a thought to quit Contacts and try it again. That didn't help but force-quitting corrected the problem. Thanks for trying to help.

Just drag the contact to the group you want.
(Obviously this contact, besides being added to the group, will continue to appear in "All Contacts", because er... all contacts...)

What happens when you try?
Is this a Group, and not a Smart Group? (Smart Groups are defined by the set criteria, you do not manually add contacts to them)
If you make a new Group, and try to add contacts to it, does that work?
