On Mac computers with Apple silicon [M1], you can connect up to 4 displays depending on the chip in your Mac. To find out which chip your Mac has, choose Apple menu  > About This Mac.

If you are using an older model,:- Identify your MacBook Pro model - Apple Support - Then click on the technical specifications link for the MBP you have.

What version MacBook Pro do you have? The M1 and M2 versions support only one external display. For more than one external display you need a M1 Pro, M1 max, M2 Pro, or M2 Max processor.
