Nike Run Club getting km and miles mixed

The Nike Run Club app on my Apple watch (Series 7, version 9.4) has a couple of bugs that are starting to make it very frustrating. Firstly, when I set a distance in KMs it appears to convert this into miles. For example, I set a run duration of 1km and start. When I get to 1.61km (1 mile) it says I have reached my goal. This is incredibly annoying as on longer runs (say 10km) It starts counting down at intervals converted to miles. (e.g. half of 16.1km). It is not very helpful to be told you have 11.37 Km remaining.

I have checked all settings on the watch and phone and everything is set to Km and not set to miles anywhere. I have tried uninstalling the app but I can't (Nike version of the watch) and two watch resets have not fixed the issue.

I have also noticed that recently it stopped announcing the intervals through my connected headphones too. I get start and end of run announcements but, even though I have double checked the settings and tried selecting all the different options, it still does not give me any updated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
