FWIW, This question seems to be well beyond the scope of these forums. You could try posting in the developer forum. Better still open a developer account and post there. Just my opinion.

I am myself a co-developer of the research software in question.

It is a complex software, and it will take us time to find out what is happening. Possibly, some numeric code is ill-conditioned so that minor changes in floating-point computations get grossly amplified. In the meantime, I would be very grateful for any hint

about similar observations in other software;
what changed inside MacOS with RSR13.3.1(a).

Thanks. What is the difference between the two options you proposed: "posting in the developer forum" vs opening "a developer account and post there"? Where is "there"?
