Share your health and fitness data in XML format

You can export all of your health and fitness data from Health in XML format, which is a common format for sharing data between apps.

  1. Tap your picture or initials at the top right.
  2. If you don’t see your picture or initials, tap Summary or Browse at the bottom of the screen, then scroll to the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Export All Health Data, then choose a method for sharing your data.

I am sorry, my question was misunderstood. It was referring to the Sleep function of the Apple Watch, which is normally also visible on the iPhone.

However, I cannot see any way to see that data, record it, store it, analyze it, print it on the Mac.

This information would be very helpful.

I am not referring to the Mac going to sleep.

I hope this clarifies my question.

Given you are steeped in privacy issues, I'd think a publicly available app would not be the place to garner data. Especially since you've now stated insurance companies are involved. How about medical enforcement boards and standards and practice commissions?

I can envision a large open top can with worms crawling out all over the place.

I now spend enormous amounts of time trying to get approvals for patients for necessary medications and treatments. They are all automatically denied. It is war! Insurance companies get full access to records now. The public is not listening. Supposedly everything is "negotiated" with patients and doctors. nothing is negotiated. There are no options. Apple has usually itself been more reasonable than most about privacy. If you think the worms are still in the can, you are a decade or two late. All this information can be collected. The real concern is the routine denial of care to patients. I am routinely over-ruled by insurance companies that give orders that constitute actual bad care and malpractice. The cat is already out of the bag

You are very correct, only serious legislation to correct the problem will make difference. We are just beginning to see that the extent of the problem is barely being recognized. big money has been in control. I am trying to educate every day.

This thread started with trying to securely access data from the Apple Watch. Then the question of privacy came up, and later there was some implication I was being strange by being concerned about privacy. My responses clarified why this is a serious issue.

Apple seems to try to protect privacy. The vendors - not necessarily.

And I was responding to the implication that I was strange in raising this concern - there still seems to be a theme that there is a problem with being concerned about privacy; your own response implied this. Apple is concerned. We all need to be concerned.
