How do I recover old iphoto photos from an external disk backup? I had an old Imac crash and got a disk backup service done on it. I"m trying to find missing photos that were supposedly on this imac, and were in the iphoto library. When I try to open the iphoto library, I get a message that I need to open it in "photos" because iphoto is no longer supported. What do I do?

Copy the iPhoto Library from the external disk to your Pictures folder, if you have enough free storage.
Then open the iPhoto Library in Photos, as you have been told.
If the library is from a very old version of iPhoto, iPhoto 7.x.x. or older, you may need to prepare it with the iPhoto Library upgrader, before you can open it. YOu can download it here: iPhoto '11: About the Library Upgrader
