iCloud storage is almost full?

I am getting the message that my iCloud storage is almost full. In my iCloud account, most of the folders are used only by my apps, and none of them have much in them. The garage band folder might be a culprit, but there are only three files in there. I can't figure out how to determine the size of the files, but I don't think they're very big. The culprit could be my photos, which were at one time backed up to iCloud. I turned that off but I still may need to remove them from iCloud. I forget where they are stored,; there is no photos folder in the iCloud Drive window. Advice appreciated.
