If I'm storing camera recordings with iCloud+ do I need a subscription with the camera manufacturer?

I have several Eufy security cams. They offer a subscription to store recordings on their cloud. Do I need to purchase that if I'm using HomeKit Secure Video, or are those two completely separate systems? I don't want to pay Eufy if HomeKit will still be storing recordings anyway.
