How to permanently disable Mail filters? Solution found.

This answer was asked a long time ago so I couldn't reply to that thread.

The answer is to:

  1. Click an hold the filter button until its sub-menu opens up.
  2. Click on Disable Filters.

Here's what was missing in the original post.

This has to be done on all mailboxes individually.

Filters are automatically enabled on all Apple installed mailboxes.

Any new mailboxes that you create have filter automatically disabled.

I know what you are thinking, why isn't this a global preference that could be selected in the app setting???

It's only been a couple of years.

Apple usually does the right thing after they have tried everything else.

Mac Pro, macOS 13.3
