Disabling Auto Crop on Photos

It wouldn’t let me reply to the original post about this, but if you want to avoid the auto-crop feature, all you have to do is select the picture you want to crop and then click:

  1. Edit
  2. Click the cropping icon on the bottom, it’s the third icon.
  3. Then at the top, click the overlay boxes icon, the one to the right of the word “auto” at the top of the screen.
  4. Once you click that, then options at the bottom will come up for size, select freeform.
  5. You can freely crop your photo now.


Yes, it’s a little bit of a hassle, but at least the option is there. I hope eventually Apple allows this setting freely so that we don’t have to manually select to be able to manually crop. It’s silly.
