Hello mz.contrary,

If you haven't already done so, you can use the steps below to disable the Continuity Camera feature:

1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff.
2. Turn off Continuity Camera.

You can also find those steps in this resource: Continuity Camera: Use iPhone as a webcam for Mac - Apple Support That should help to prevent that behavior from happening in the future.

Should you still continue to run into that behavior, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support: Apple Support They'll be in the best position to look into this further.

Take care.

Hi mz.contrary,

Under what circumstances do you see this pop-up appear? Have you tried restarting both your iPhone and Mac? This can resolve minor software issues. Also, we'd recommend making sure your Mac and iPhone are both up-to-date. Here are resources to help you with both devices:

Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

We look forward to hearing back from you to see how we can better assist.

Take care.

hi....no particular circumstances--just in the course of using my phone to check emails, look things up on the internet, shop--it just came out of nowhere--i had no idea that my iphone 12 could be used as a webcam--nor do i have any desire to use it as such--i did the usual things--restarting both devices, seek answers to my problem online--both devices are updated automatically. i got so tired of being thrown off whatever task i was performing by the return of that annoying message every 2-3 minutes that i just turned off my iphone for the rest of the day...it was odd that the message gave me the 2 options--pause and disconnect--because selecting either one didn't appear to do anything--and the next day when i turned my phone back on, it never appeared again. that would seem to be "good news," except for the fact that i don't like it when im blindsided by something and then it "magically" disappears, because that's not rational and pop-ups that toss you off whatever site you are on that aren't able to be explained by apple or its community that disappear as quickly as they appeared cause me concern and generally breed mistrust within me of my devices snd my sense of privacy and security when using them and cause me to think that someone or something has infiltrated my system somehow--but i guess i should just be happy that in hasn't happened so far in 2 days, so i'm going to pretend that i am and leave it there, but truthfully it just doesn't make me feel comfortable and just builds distrust that all of these two-step verifications and password protection measures are a joke.
