How can I return lost AirPods to Its Owner?

So someone lost an Air Pod and I picked it up. Now I am getting a tracking notification in MY iPhone that they are moving, etc…. What to do?

How do I find this person who has lost their pods

What to do with Found AirPods:

A. Recycle them:

Take these to your local retailer, and see if they offer recycling of electronics.

B. Take to Lost & Found:

If you were at a public space, then pop back in, handing it over to them. See if they will place it aside.

Important:

Posting AirPods on CraigsList:

IMO: If you place a “Found” post on Craigslist, anyone could claim them. It’s nothing of a computer. If you find a computer, then, in that case, it is best to return the to a public location, perhaps security or police —but these are nothing of a computer.

Yes. Trash them. Someone is seeing your location. Bringing them the an e-Waste location would be wisest.

Rid of these:

Security & Privacy is of big concern here. These are being tracked. So, trash this, and then get a new pair, directly from Apple.  See here: What to do if you Get an Alert that an AirTag, Find My Network Accessory, or Set of AirPods is with you - Apple Support

So I should throw it away? I don’t want to use it as I have two pairs of Pros…. I just picked it up off the ground in a parking lot without really thinking much about it. It’s an old 2nd gen right ear piece - I don’t want someone coming to my house looking for it!

the notification is gone - can I get it back to disable the tracking? I’m a young female and don’t want to have to worry
