A. Same Server as @iCloud.com

@me uses the same server settings as @iCloud.com. So, use this link: Get Help Using iCloud Mail - Apple Support

B. Contact Apple support:

Being the account is not working as it should, contact Apple Support, and request that they assist you with this. Perform some screensharing to fix what need be.

• Contact Us - Choose Locations
• Proceed from there, as necessary
• Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through.

So, when you send an eMail to it, do you get a reply about it unsuccessfully being send? If so, then it is non-existent, and you just can't recover it.
