White dots appearing on timeline and not allowing me to share

White dots appearing on timeline, but when I click render all, render selected the background tasks does not change and all my options say idle.

I have deleted all generated files, all renders files, proxy files etc. But nothing seems to be working.

I have finished the editing but when I try and export the file, I click on the default option and it is unresponsive. Unsure where I have gone wrong as this has come out of no where.

If anyone can help and thanks in advance.

You mean that when you click Share->Export File, nothing further happens?

As usual, when something is not right, deleting preferences is worth a try.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.

The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

If the issue persists, try this: select All, Copy, make a new project, Paste. Try exporting that new project.

If it then works, discard the old one.
