According to Apple, the battery on a new Watch (other than the Ultra) should last about 18 hours. That's less than one day. So, if you're watch is lasting 24 hours, you're doing great.

Note that, as a battery ages, it will last a shorted and shorter length of time between charges. One your watch, go to Settings>Battery>Battery Health. What is the Maximum Capacity? If it is less than 80%, you need a new battery. Though, if you really do have an Watch Series 3, I'd consider buying a newer watch.
