LogMeIn: inability to get rid of pop-up screen

I have not installed LogMeIn. Who knows how I might remove the LogMeIn window that sits permanently open on my screen? I am being encouraged to install. I do not want the app. Have taken all the steps re: deleting from applications folder and activity window. Any other ideas? Thanks, Paula

Thank you so much for your input: I'd already been through many of these steps with Apple Support via chat. No luck. After spending considerable time here trying to solve this problem, I accessed LogMeIn through customer support at GoTo.com (the company name was changed, same services). An agent there was able to connect to my system. With my permission he was able to remove the stubborn pop-up from my screen.
