Storage

Hi, today I got a notification out of nowhere that my storage is getting full and I should manage it. After checking it I saw that ~230 gbs out of 245 is used and I have no idea how. In details it shows that applications are taking up to 197 gbs but its simply impossible, I have handful of apps that could be max 20 gbs. It shows 175 gbs on a single application that in reality is 7 mbs, I even deleted it but didnt fix the issue. I've also done this spotlight thing and at first it goes to like ~29 gbs and then suddenly goes up to 230. Can anyone help me figure out whats going on? Should I just download one of those 3rd party apps that show storage details properly or whats the move here? If yes which one is the most secure? I certainly dont wanna get malware on my pc

Hey thanks both of you guys, I've been able to find the source. So basically I went into Library and found that battle.net keeps creating these Logs which accumulated to 175 gigs overtime which is kinda crazy and weird. Now I'm trying to figure out how to stop it from happening. I've read that there might be some bug from their end and I might have to contact them if I cant solve the issue myself.

Apps you’re supposed to store that in your user Library/Application Support folder.

The user Library is hidden. Hold down the Option key and select Library from the Go menu.

They may make a folder at the Library level.l, but not often. It should be named for the app or company.

The other possibility is Spotlight index is bad. It uses Spotlight to sum up all of the

associated file storage.

I like using Grand Perspective to find large pockets of used storage.

Apparently BattleNet also stores files in the Shared folder. I would check at Finder > Go > Computer. Open your HD and check the Users folder for BattleNet or Blizzard. Check how much is stored there by Right-Click and choose Get Info.

Also check Blizzard folders for BattleNet files. There have been other reports of it taking up a large amount of storage space with some in Cache folders and other locations on your HD.

I don't have Battle.Net installed, so I'm unable to verify all the different locations, just wanted to clarify that removing the App alone is not enough to gain your storage space back.
