Hello djbobbied1,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you changed your Apple ID password that it isn’t working as expected for iTunes. We are happy to help.

What is the exact error message you receive? We are asking because this will help us isolate the cause. We recommend typing the password in new note and then copy and paste the password in the password field of iTunes. If you’re still getting an error message, please try the steps here as they may help: If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

"Reset your Apple ID password on your iPhone or other trusted Apple device

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap your name > Password & Security > Change Password.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to reset your password.

You can also follow this process on a trusted iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch.

To reset your password on your trusted Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings (or System Preferences) > Sign in with your Apple ID (or Apple ID). Then click Password & Security, Change Password, and follow the onscreen instructions."

Let us know if you have further questions.

Take care.
