You should never stress internal parts and cables "just to see".

Replacing an HDD with an SSD is usually a good idea and doable; files and such can be put onto the SSD with little effort. I generally do it from a Time Machine or CCC backup made just prior to cracking the case. Actually I make a pair for security.

But the permanent purple hue of the screen still indicates graphics card and/or cable damage of some ilk.

How long has it had the purple haze?

i wanted to change the disk to ssd, it didn't work out because i wanted to copy the files from the previous one to the ssd on my 2nd computer but it stopped ejecting the disks for no reason, but the purple screen was already there with or without the disk, the first time after connecting it already appeared purple, cables probably not they look damaged, sometimes it tugged a little but probably not so much that it broke off, unless there was a short circuit

To be honest, there are very few upgrades for that Mac that are condoned by Apple. The internal hdd could be upgraded, and the RAM, I think. CPU and GPU not beyond what may have shipped in some variant of custom order for that model year. One could probably upgrade the optical drive to a faster model. And of course the OS.

But by today's standards it's definitely outlived its usefulness for the average user. It's not a bad hobby machine, though, if you only just want to tinker or keep it around for sentimental reasons. I've let a lot of old Macs go myself because the aggravation wasn't worth my effort.

Best of luck. 🍀
