Is it really necessary to have the newest MacOS to watch Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV+?

I have an early 2015 MacBook Pro that has the most current software available for that model. Seems kind of ridiculous that macOS Monterey can’t handle a streamed baseball game.

Why can't watch MLB live games on Apple TV even though my software is up to date? I am subscribed to Apple TV+ and have no problem watching content - except for live Major League Baseball games (I can watch all the other MLB-related shows.) Strange that MLB is the only problem I have with watching Apple TV+ content on this older Mac. And that certainly is a B.S. non-error message, and crappy user experience.

Perhaps the MLB website needs a more up to date OS and/or MLB may require later software for its website to work.
