Process FindMyWidgetPeople prevents mac from going to sleep!

Did you remove the FindMy Widget? Click the day / time on the top right of the menu bar. Click Edit Widgets at the bottom and remove the FindMy Widget. Also turn off Find My Mac in iCloud?

Here is what worked for me to solve the issue:

1. kill process using terminal command: killall -abrt FindMyWidgetPeople
2. add FindMy People widget on the sidebar and select any person
3. remove FindMy People widget
4. Log out and log back in - FindMyWidgetPeople process still runs but does not prevent sleep.

I know this is an old thread, but in case it helps someone. For whatever reason, this combination worked for me. I force closed “Notification Center” in the activity monitor since the findmypeople widget was blank and not loading.

Then reopened the widgets and re-added the findmypeople widget. Clicked on a person in the widget. Found that it was asking if I wanted to share my location with people who had shared with me. Answered the open questions.

Removed the widget. Rebooted. Not sure exactly which part of this was the golden ticket, but it worked for me after about an hour of searching and trying.

I have the same problem that runningboardd / com.apple.findmy.FindMyWidgetPeople prevents my MacBook Pro from sleep.

I removed the FindMy Widget and Find My Mac is disabled in iCloud but I still have the problem.
