Weird glitch after updating Ios 16.5

Hi, im going to post what my first issue was, that Ive asked for help for on Reddit (on ios 15.6.1) "Hi, ive had this problem of my other data taking up a lot of storage for a while now. I checked again bc I'll be going to 2 concerts this year (first one next month) ive deleted a lot of pictures, emptied the "trash bin" and changed the date to 30+ days. (I did all the stuff recommended except a hard reset) Now as u'll see in the screen recording ss: if I change the date back to today and take a photo/delete one it fills up again... I don't know what to do anymore. I dont own a pc/laptop for an itunes backup (I do have an Icloud backup) and Ive read enough to know that backing the data up wont change anything. Would this problem be fixed w a new phone or is this a bug on other devices as well? (This is really badly written bc Im super stressed and annoyed, sorry)

So, as recommended Ive updated to ios 16.5 which I thought fixed the problem at first but all of the "other data" went back into my photo app, without the photos being in there. Not in the trash bin, not back in a folder, theyre deleted. In my settings it also shows that I have used my photos app (and a couple of other ones) in August 23?? Btw before I updated u can see that I had 17,79GB in photos and well now its at 47,24GB...

Im really lost.. Can I "force" close the photos app in any way? Or something else to fix this sh**?? Thank you

Hello bunniegum,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities and for sharing these details with us. We can see that your storage for photos did increase. We'd like to attempt a basic troubleshooting step and also confirm your storage readings. Follow the steps below:

1.) Try refreshing things by restarting your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

2.) You did mention that you don't own a computer. If you can gain access to one, it would be a great isolating step to connect your iPhone to a PC using the latest version of iTunes or a Mac. This can help confirm if the readings of your storage breakdown is correctly populating. This resource can guide you: How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support

If a restart didn't refresh things or if your storage breakdown continues to populate incorrectly, even after testing on a computer, we recommend that you reach out to Apple Support. They might have to investigate this issue further with you. Just in case, you can use this link to contact them: Get Support

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Best of luck.
