If someone can please help me.
I imported my excel spreadsheet into Apple numbers in my macbook air. On my data sheet it removed the dropdown selection format in one column of 1000 rows.
How do I set up data validation from another sheet on that specific column and not loose the current selections made?

Terminology:
Excel dropdowns are Numbers Pop-Up menus 😉.
If the import process converted Excel dropdowns to Automatic or Text format, simply select the cells in that column and convert to Pop-Up menu. The current selections will be preserved.

There is one big difference between Excel data validation (where a column of data is used for the "dropdown selection") and Numbers pop up menus. In Excel if you edit that column of data the new data will be used in all the cells that have the "dropdown selection". In Numbers, you will have to create a new popup menu and manually put it in all the cells that need the edited "dropdown selection".
