Re: "how do i completely remove recently deleted files"

Deleted files are generally permanently deleted after 30 days by default, (ie: automatically, according to the time you have set in settings).

Wondering which Mac or device model you are using,

and

which MacOS or iOS, iPadOS version is installed.

Eg: On Mac:

Emptying the trash will often delete all recently deleted files.

Some individual apps on Apple devices have their own "Recently Deleted" folders. Eg: for Photos you could try going to:

Photos > Albums, and tap Recently Deleted in the Utilities section.

or _____________________________________________

To delete photos permanently using iOS 16 or iPdOS16

  1. Open Photos and tap the Albums tab.
  2. Tap the Recently Deleted album.
  3. In iOS 16, iPadOS 16.1, or later, use Face ID or Touch ID to unlock your Recently Deleted album.
  4. Tap Select.
  5. Select the photo or video that you want and tap Delete. If you want to delete all the photos and videos in the album, tap Delete All.
  6. Tap Delete Photo to confirm.

When you delete a photo from this album, you can't get it back.
