iPhone Alarm Going off with No Sound
This is a consistent issue I have been having for years, across multiple iOS devices (iPhones 7, 11, & 14 pro) and software versions. At least once a week, without fail, my iPhone alarm will show that it is going off—yet no sound will be playing. I’ll see the alarm screen with the options to “snooze” or “stop,” but it’s completely silent. This happens randomly, but consistently. I have tried EVERY troubleshooting tactic: restarting my phone, turning off attention aware features, turning off Do Not Disturb before I go to bed, making sure my system volume AND ringer are BOTH up before I go to bed, putting my phone across the room so I don’t accidentally silence it in my sleep, defaulting to factory settings, making sure I have the latest update, having my battery serviced, GETTING A WHOLE ENTIRE NEW DEVICE, and it’s STILL a problem. There are multiple forms from 2017-2022 discussing this, yet there seems to have been no statement from Apple officially recognizing it or making any attempts to fix it; even though it’s clearly still an issue for some users. Because of this, I obviously can’t rely on my iPhone alarm anymore. I do have a separate alarm clock that manages to wake me up—but that’s not the problem. The alarm app simply just doesn’t work, and I can’t rely on it how I should. I have to go out and buy a separate device when I’m supposed to be able to do it all from my phone. I don’t like to complain about problems that have viable solutions, it’s just the lack of information, support, and recognition for this issue from Apple that’s really grinding my gears. That’s what really drove me to post this question. I didn’t even have a community account before this. Hoping I’m not the only one with this problem and can speak for others as well.
