Cannot unmount/erase disk0 and shows a red storage band for disk0 - 500GB


Solution:


  • Get a USB-C to USB-C cable and plug it into another Mac (host).
  • Download and install Apple Configurator 2.
  • Put the MacBook with the issue into DFU mode (right shift, left option, left control) + Power button - release the3 buttons after 10 seconds, keep holding power for another 10 seconds.
  • Restore the MacBook from Apple Configurator 2.
  • The latest OS will download on your host computer and push it to the MacBook in a 4 stage process.
