Strange Watch Charging Issue
Hi all,
I've got a weird charging issue with my new watch. I've bought the Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3-in-1 charging stand with my Watch Ultra and it while it charges my phone and airpods it doesn't charge the watch at all. When I connect it to the official magnetic usb c charger that came with the watch and an official apple charger plug it shows that it's starting to charge but it's a coin flip as to what it'll do next. It either charges as normal with no issue or (and the majority of the time) it will show that it's charging but actually lose about 1% charge and then randomly stop, it then sits not charging for about 15-20 minutes before it shows it's charging and then stops again after about five minutes.
I've left it on charge for over an hour twice today and the first time it went from 16% to 18% over an hour, the second time it's at 81%. I've been in contact with Apple support through the chat service and they sent me the link to an article in the help section and then closed the chat.
I've carried out the following troubleshooting steps:
- Restarted the watch
- Powered the watch off for over an hour and restarted
- Tried multiple charging cables/stands/plugs (all Apple official apart from the belkin stand)
- Upgraded the watch to watchOS 9.5 (20T562)
- Factory reset the watch
- Cleaned the back of the watch with microfibre cloth
- Ensured all plastic and debris is cleared from the chargers and stand
Bit of a strange and intermittent fault, was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience as I'm struggling to find much troubleshooting steps other than cleaned the back of the watch and update the software.
