When I try connecting to TV with my type c to HDMI cable, the TV detects the something is connected in the HDMI port but my ipad screen does not replicate. Is there any settings on ipad that I need to configure before doing this? I am using ipad pro 11 inch 3rd gen and I have checked for every possible problem n everything is working fine from my HDMI cabe to the adaptor.

Mine is USB-C to HDMI directly, but with a big block (probably the conversion hardware) at the HDMI end. It's been used for connecting an MacBook Pro to a display as well as a Chromebook to a TV. The big end also gets warm, suggesting that it's where the heavily lifting is going on. Since HDMI doesn't transfer power, the power is obviously coming from he USB-C end.
I tried it on my iPad mini 6 and a Samsung TV with HDMI input. It took a while for it to configure (seemed like over a minute), but after a while it mirrored what was on the iPad, but didn't fill up the TV screen. But it should self configure. Once it was up I tried a few things, and some apps automatically lock out stuff like video when they connected to an external display. Like ESPN, where I have a smart TV app for it anyways, but there might be certain rights issues with iPad apps mirroring to a display.
This has some tips. It might also be able to use Stage Manager for more detailed display settings.
