You cannot. The IMEI number does not in any way identify a device as real or fake.
It merely uniquely identifies the device to a cellular service provider. It can be a fake iPhone and still have a valid IMEI number and be usable on a cellular network.
Best way to identify thew iPhone is to enter its Serial number (not IMEI), at https://checkcoverage.apple.com
If the page comes back with correct information for the iPhone, the. it's a real iPhone.
Also, if it has the App Store app, and rather than Google Play, then it's also a real iPhone.
