Message won’t include proper names

This is the weirdest thing. Ever since I updated to the new iOS I can no longer voice dictate names in my text messages. So if I use voice dictation in iMessage and say “Tell John I said hi” it will show as “Tell I said hi”. It automatically drops the “John”. This happens no matter what proper name I use. I have restarted my phone, turned MMS off and back on. Any other suggestions?
