I want to shorten a few videos I photos on my MAC.

I followed all the instructions listed my Apple . I previewed the video in its shortened state and was satisfied. I pressed 'done ', then 'save as new clip'.Then when I looked at it in the folder it was back to the original length.

very frustrating as I have a few videos to shorten to insert in a slideshow.

How can we remove unused clips from Final Cut X? If you take a single media file, i.e. IMG_7687.mov and you drag it to a project timeline, then you cut some of the footage out, each unused section of that original media becomes an 'unused' clip. When I filter by 'unused' I would expect to see all media that I've imported that has not been used yet, but that's not what I see. I see all unused clips of the same media file. All of my deleted footage has become unused clips and I want to eliminate them so I can easily find actual media I haven't used yet.

How to Trim Video Length on Mac using iPhoto 7 I have searched and searched forums and watched YouTube videos but they are all out of date. I have loaded a GoPro video on my Mac's Photo 7 app using MacOS Monterey 12.7. In the edit mode there does not seem to be any way to trim the videos length. I see how to crop but that is NOT what I am after. I am looking to cut sections out of the video. Perhaps I am missing something very fundamental but appreciate any help or insight.

Moving videos from photos to iMovie, and back again is lowering the quality. How do I get around that? I have a series of video clips in my photos app that I need to edit (trim, add/remove/enhance audio, arrange transitions, string together clips, etc.). iMovie has all the editing tools I need, but after uploading media to iMovie from Photos, and then downloading the finished content back to my Mac, the video quality is so much lower. I've exported with the best resolution, quality, and compress that I can, but the original videos from Photos still have much better quality. I'm not sure if the quality is lost when I move media from Photos to iMovie, or from iMovie to Photos after the editing process. How do I import, edit, and export videos between Photos and iMovie and still maintain the quality?
