Whenever I move a project and copy the relevant clips to a different drive a, almost always many clips won't reconnect. The usual reason given being the clips copied to the new drive aren't the same length, off by a couple frames.

Anything to be done about this, besides painstakingly reconnecting the edited segments in a project manually?

Final Cut Pro "Save Project In" does not immediately save all media I've encountered this issue for a long time. When I archive my projects, I "Save Project In" a new library, on an external drive. Once I have completed that operation, the new (archive) library immediately shows up in Final Cut Pro. But when I inspect the hard drive I'm saving the archive library to, the size starts out very small (as low as 100MB for 30GB library), and grows over the next few minutes, or sometime over the next several hours. The new archive library will open fine in Final Cut Pro immediately, even if the size is very small in the hard drive. But if I try to open the archive library from the external drive on a different Mac too soon, there will be media missing. Sometimes I have to wait several hours for the size of the library file to finish growing. There is no indication within FCP that the saving process is still in progress, nor any indication when it has been completed. Since the size of the archive is always smaller than the original library, it's a guessing game whether the copying process has completed or not. I encounter this issue on both my MacBook Pro and my iMac. This seems like a glaring bug in FCP. Though I have never found anything on the internet about this problem.

Trouble relinking projects and media copied to another drive Hi I sometimes have to copy projects and their media to another drive and almost always I have trouble relinking because in the copying process the "new" files are a couple frames different in length. Therefore, I must laboriously reconnect project clip by project clip in the Timeline. As I recall, in the old FCP (Studio), one would be asked if you wanted to go ahead and most of the time there wouldn't be a problem. Not with FCPX to my knowledge. Apple really should reinstitute the choice. Till then, any workarounds known? royks

Importing files will leave them where they are instead of copying to HD Hello! Long time FCP user here, first time I have this issue. Mac Studio M2 Max, MacOS Sequoia 15.5, FCP 11.1, was working fine a week ago. When importing files from a SD card, the files won't actually copy to the SSD, even if the Copy to library option is selected. On top of that, the option to "Leave files where they are" is not registering when clicking on the button, ie nothing happens, it stays on Copy to library. The only thing that changed since last week is the update of the Pro Video Codec that was issued a couple days ago. I tried a few different SD cards, recorded on different camcorders, same issue. Where can I report this bug officially? Thanks!
