How was it "destroyed"? If the processor, flash memory, and security components are still intact, it might be possible to repair it long enough to extract the data into an iOS backup.

There might be ways to do data recovery on an iPhone, but I can't give any specific recommendations. This type of work tends to be very expensive. For the most part you would need another (compatible) iPhone to transfer the data from an extracted backup. Data recovery recovery repairs are notoriously unreliable. The primary goal is to get an iPhone working long enough to create a backup.

If your phone is destroyed beyond repair, then there is no way to get anything off it. Do you have a backup that you can download to a new phone?

For SMS messages, you can contact your cellular service provider and request a printout of all your messages from them.

For iMessages, you can get any messages sent from any other device that is using the same Apple ID as the iPhone or from a backup as suggested above.

Did you have iCloud for Messages enabled, or were you making a regular back to iCloud or a computer?
