There’s nothing wrong here, and you’re not hacked.

You seem to have found one of the ARE YOU HACKED ENTER THIS CODE TO FIND OUT websites.

(Which is itself an amusing claim, but that’s also all fodder for other and longer discussions.)

Carrier codes vary by carrier.

Here are the Verizon and AT&T # and * codes:

There are carrier codes that are used for things like call forwarding, and voicemail.

You can check your current call forwarding setting using iPhone, too. Here is how:

Set up call forwarding and call waiting on iPhone - Apple Support

If you want to know about the # and * codes available for your carrier, ask them.

But again, entering codes won’t get you useful responses from carriers that don’t use those codes or use different codes, and there’s no “hacked” flag around, and what you’ve shown above is a normal (and confusing) carrier message.

Nothing wrong here. No hack.

Why is it one night put the code in to see if my phone has been called forwarded it comes out saying error why is it?

Because that’s how those short codes work (or don’t work) with your particular carrier.

Here is how call forwarding is set up on iPhone:

Set up call forwarding on iPhone - Apple Support

If that user interface (UI) does not show call forwarding, then call forwarding is not enabled.

For assistance with your particular carrier’s short codes, contact your carrier.

Or use the existing call-forwarding UI and not carrier short codes, of course.

I have provided details of all of this in my reply above, including listings of short codes for some carriers. (Some carriers’ websites unfortunately churn, so some links might have gone stale. Search the carrier’s website for short code details.)
